Our mission

All about connecting!

Our mission is 'to be vibrant followers of Jesus committed to making a difference in our communities' by:

  • connecting with God
  • connecting with One Another
  • connecting others with God

Our beliefs

We subscribe to the Evangelical Alliance’s basis of faith (https://www.eauk.org/about-us/basis-of-faith) and are affiliated to Synergy, a family of churches across the Midlands (https://www.synergysphere.org)

Our story

Launched in September 2010, Pershore Community Church was formed from a group that decided to plant out of City Church, Worcester.  The church was initially rooted in the Salt and Light movement and is now a part of Synergy Group of Churches and a supporter of the principles of the Evangelical Alliance.

As the church has grown, it has relocated to several venues across Pershore and it currently meets most weekends at Abbey Park Middle School.  It is a strong supporter of mid-week ‘life’ groups, meeting in homes providing support for mission and discipleship.  The church is led by a team of three Core Leaders, supported by a Missional Leader and a ‘Wider Leadership’  team.  The church has a track record for working collaboratively to make a difference in Pershore and the surrounding villages.

Our team

We know meeting people in a new place or joining us online is not always easy. So here are a few faces at Pershore Community Church to look out for.

We have a Core Leadership Team, which steers the direction and vision of the church, and a Wider Leadership Team, where different areas of ministry are represented.

 Phil Thorman

Church Leader

With a heart for Men’s and Youth Ministry, Phil’s day job is as Project Manager. Phil enjoys a good curry, going on country walks, golf, cooking and watching football.

Andrew Stephens

Church Leader

Andrew has previously helped lead and plant churches in South Wales and East Yorkshire. Andrew currently acts as church treasurer and enjoys golf, running, DIY and spending time with family.

Scott Andrews

Church Leader

Part of the worship and preaching teams, Scott is an active church researcher and can also be found heading up the Business School at the University of Worcester. Scott enjoys watching football, running, travelling and enjoying good quality coffee.
